About Makayla

I'm Makayla, the artist behind it all! I'm a Professional Makeup Artist & Hair Stylist based out of Vancouver, BC. I moved across Canada from Nova Scotia to pursue my career in the beauty industry, and get a breath of the fresh mountain air! I graduated with my Diploma in Beauty & SFX Makeup from John Casablancas Institute in 2019.

I primarily focus my time on Bridal, special events, and photoshoots. I love creating soft glam looks that enchance my clients natural beauty, and effortless hairstyles. However, you can also find me working in Fashion, TV, and creating editorials and Special FX looks in my free time.

My work has been published in multiple fashion magazines, and I've worked as MUA for Vancouver Fashion Week.

To start my career I worked in cosmetic retail for the Charlotte Tilbury team and The Ordinary Skincare brand. I later moved on to work as Key Hair & Makeup Artist at Vancouver News Station the Market Herald.
I also have experience working in a salon setting, but I am now a mobile artist and travel to my clients for their services!

With my background in skincare, I believe that your skin health and skin prep is what creates the perfect canvas for your makeup.
No matter what style of makeup you're looking for; creative, soft or full glam, I always make sure my clients leave feeling amazing!

I'm always touching up on my skills and expanding my knowledge in the Beauty Industry, so that I can continue to create the looks you love!

Booking My Services

As a Luxury Bridal Artist my weekends from May-Sept are typically saved for weddings. But please inquire for any of your makeup & hairstyling needs, just in case!

I have recieved my Barbicide COVID-19 Certificate for the Professional Beauty Industry, along with the Barbicide Certificate for Proper Sanitation and Disenfection Practices
